Microsoft Mesh works in combination with Microsoft’s flagship augmented reality device, HoloLens. With ‘holoportation,’ a scanned in version of yourself can be dropped into any compatible meeting. Allowing virtual shared experiences and visual/in-depth collaboration while at the office or your own home.
So What? I Won’t Use That (well… maybe not yet)
The applications for augmented reality (think Snapchat & Instagram filters) in the workforce and Microsoft Mesh are numerous. International meetings with instant translations, no more zoom (a more personal, interactive virtual experience), and instant/creative collaboration in a 3D space. Students can get a more in depth education, seeing practical diagrams on more than just paper. Mechanics, engineers and designers, can create and get up to date information/blueprints on model specific items.
